With incredibly big shoes to fill in the form of the predecessor Lagom P64, Option-O has overdelivered on expectations at a price tag no one saw coming. With bigger 80mm burrs with blind integration, a slow feeding pathway with the new auger system and “double grinding” with the new prebreakers on the P80, there is a new single dose king in town.

It has kept the best bits from the P64 with an improved stepped RPM, a grind chute that now doubles as a knocker, a more extended and stable forked design which accommodates both portafilter and grind cup options.

We love the fact that the manufacturer isn’t shy to introduce top of the line features like Purge Mode (seen previously from the Lagom 01) into the system, joining Auto Mode (from the Mini II and Casa) and the standard Manual Mode.

If you delve deep within the grinder construction, you will experience the rugged build quality and the low level of tolerances and play between the parts. The grind chamber and top burr carrier has been unified and loose components like springs being reworked into the system to minimize components going missing overtime.
