Most gooseneck kettles ask you to control flow with your wrist. Pour too fast, correct, overcorrect, repeat. Yearn Tour looked at that problem and moved the control off your wrist entirely, onto a knob. That decision is why we brought this kettle into the TCFID lineup: it solves something baristas have been compensating for by hand since gooseneck kettles existed.

A knob that sets your flow rate for you

On the shoulder of the kettle sits a stepless flow adjustment knob. Turn it clockwise and the water column widens; counter-clockwise and it tightens to a thread. The 1–8 markings are reference points rather than fixed rates, since actual flow also shifts with how much water is left in the 1.0L body, but once you find your number for a recipe, you can return to it every morning.

A spout and lid built for vertical water

The eagle-beak spout delivers water in a soft, near-vertical column, which is exactly what you want when saturating a V60 bed without digging channels into it. The flat lid has a quieter job: rest a finger on it mid-pour and it steadies both direction and speed, so the flow doesn’t run away from you toward the end of a long draw. Our floor team now does this without thinking, one hand on the ergonomic handle, one finger on the lid.

The handle itself accommodates standard, side, and pinch grips, with an upturned tail that supports the palm through extended pours. The SUS316 food-grade stainless body sits on an anti-scalding, boat-shaped bottom cover, so setting it down on the counter between pours is a non-event.

A base that holds temperature to the 1 degree

The 1500W element brings water to an anti-splash boil at 100°C quickly, but the tempered glass touch panel is where the precision lives. Nine preset temperatures sit one tap away, with +/– fine adjustment and a display that resolves to 1°C. Keep warm, timer, memory, and auto keep warm are all built into the base, and it shuts itself off after an hour idle, remembering your settings when power returns. We keep one at 92°C on the demo bar all day; the green light on the ambient bar tells us it is holding, red tells us it is heating, white tells us it is asleep.

It reads your water, too

Here is the feature we did not expect: the base integrates a TDS meter with a PPM display, reading water up to 60°C. Yearn Tour claims it is the first kettle base to carry water-quality pen technology, and a separate TDS test pen ships in the box regardless. A buzzer confirms each state change so you never guess.
